DUFFIELD, VA - James Eugene "Jimmy" Jessee, age 64, of Duffield, VA, went to his heavenly home October 23, 2024.
Jimmy was born on August 21, 1960, to the late Esta Mae Jessee. He loved working on cars, spending time with his loved ones, and helping Sunbright Towing Service until his health declined, and he was unable to do so.
Anyone who knew Jimmy knew what a hoot he was, and knew he would give you the shirt off his back. One of his favorite past times was watching his grandchildren play sports, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mae Jessee, and infant son, Dustin Jessee.
Surviving are his daughter, Allison Cross and husband, Zack; son, Jonathan Jessee; granddaughters, Nevaeh "Gracie" Byrd, Sara Nicole Byrd, Liebe Mae Jessee; grandson, Nathanial James Byrd; mother of his children, Judy Hass and husband, Bill; special cousins, Clint and Phyllis Miller, Randy Jessee, and so many more.
Over his lifetime he acquired many brothers, sisters, and special friends. He didn't know a stranger.
A huge thank you goes out to all who helped care for him, including but not limited to Phyllis Miller, Anthony Hensley, Austin Lawson, Teddy and Sue Starnes, and Bill Hass.
A celebration of life will be held from 5-6p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 6:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Steven Vanzant officiating.
The family asks that any donations wished to Jimmy be made to Gate City Funeral home to aid with funeral expenses.
