James Seaver Obituary

James Lowell Seaver

July 1, 1940 -

April 23, 2025

ROGERSVILLE - James Lowell Seaver, 84, of Rogersville, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 23, 2025.

James was born on July 1, 1940, in Church Hill, TN to the late Ottie and Blanche Seaver. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, George, Robert, Winton, Carl, and Randall Seaver; sister, Marylin Wagers; and his sisters-in-law, Joanne and Brenda Seaver.

James served 20+ years in the United States Army Reserve and worked until retirement at the United States Postal Service. In his younger years, James enjoyed playing baseball and had a mean left-handed pitch. After retirement, you could find him on the boat fishing, working in his garden, or talking on the phone with his buddies until midnight with a box of cheez-its and an ice-cold Pepsi in hand. James never met a stranger, if you knew him, you loved him. He loved his family more than anything, especially the grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Susie Seaver; daughters, Karen Seaver (Mark Williams), Valorie Pierce (Michael "Sandy"), and Natisha Lawson (Danny); grandchildren, Mandi Byington (Daniel), Preslee Possemato (Rocco), Meghan Brooks (Seth), and Aidan Pierce; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Elisabeth, Avery, and Luca; brother, Hugh Seaver (Glenda); sisters-in-law, Norma Seaver and Joyce Seaver; brother-in-law, James Wagers; and several extended family members and close friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the calls and messages, and a special thanks to the staff at NHC for their great care during his stay there.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home with a service to follow at 2:00 PM with pastors Lon Taylor and Tecky Hicks officiating. Graveside services with military honors conducted by American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 will be held immediately following the service at Church Hill Memorial Gardens.

James will be truly missed and always remembered by everyone who knew him.
