KINGSPORT - James "Jim" Richard Sexton, born December 13, 1945 of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday March 27, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Jim was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and a retiree from Eastman Chemical Company after 50 years of service. Jim proudly served in the United States Army.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Edith C. Sexton, and his father, Vernoy R. Sexton.
Jim is survived by his brother, John Sexton (Debbie), daughter, Ronda Roller (Roy), a granddaughter, Jessica, four great-grandchildren, Logan, Elizabeth, Makayla and Abigail as well as a great-great-grandson, Grayson.
The family would like to give a special appreciation to American House Kingsport and Gentiva Hospice Service for providing outstanding care for Jim.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.

A visitation for Jim will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM. A committal service with military honors will occur Monday, April 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM.
