CHURCH HILL – James H. "Doc" Wilmoth, 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, following a brief illness.
James was born in Hawkins Co. and was a lifelong resident of Church Hill. He retired from Holliston Mills and was a farmer his whole life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Mattie (Lloyd) Wilmoth; sister, Ethel Bowlin; brothers, Clyde, Kelly, Ira "Bull", and Gene Wilmoth; and his infant son, Damien Wilmoth.
He is survived by, the mother of his children, Claudell Wilmoth; daughters, Mekey Wilmoth, and Jamie Greene (Sam Greene); grandkids, Elizabeth, and David Greene; and his brother, Albert "Gabby" Wilmoth.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Mount Mitchell Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Carter's Valley Volunteer Fire Department in his memory.

Jim was a good friend, only knew him for a few years. Had breakfast with him and Mekey every Sunday morning. He always talked about farming and his cows.
