Jane Fields Rutledge, 85, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Wexford House Skilled Nursing Facility.

Jane was born February 26, 1940, in Hansonville, VA. She was the daughter of Oliver Fields and Rosa Lee Vencil Fields. Jane's family moved to Snowflake, VA. when she was in high school where she graduated from Gate City High School.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Donald Rhea Rutledge, grandson Brandon James Waycaster, and 11 siblings of which she was the youngest.

Survivors include one son Steven Rhea Rutledge, one daughter Terri Lea Tolley, one granddaughter, Kirsten Lea Hoyle and husband Andrew, one grandson Kenneth Wayne Hauck, two very special great granddaughters, Lilly Belle Hauck, and Brandyn Rose Waycaster, and one great grandson, Rowdy Huel Hoyle, and two special nieces, Diana Whited Bushong and Rita Carol Whited, along with several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Dementia Society of America or Alzheimer's Association or Pat Summitt Foundation or any other charity of your choice.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday June 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, TN, 37664.
