Jeanne Armstrong Alley April 16, 1933 - August 17, 2024
CHURCH HILL - Jeanne Armstrong Alley, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at her daughter's home.
Jeanne was born in Rogersville, TN on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933, and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at 14 years old while attending a Methodist revival with her mother. Jeanne grew up in the Presbyterian Church of Stony Point, later attending church with her daughters, the last being Tabernacle Baptist Church. She loved attending Bible Study Fellowship with her daughters for several years. She retired from the Kingsport Press Hawkins County Plant in 1993 after 28 years. She loved to work in her flower garden and enjoyed feeding her birds and chipmunks. She was well known for her hamburger corn pone pie, which is a recipe her daughters now cherish. Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. Her bright, loving, and giving personality will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, until they meet again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Clinton, and Nellie Minerva (Caldwell) Armstrong; husband, Leroy "Lee" W. Alley; sister, Betsy Greene.
Those left to cherish Jeanne's memory are her daughters, Deborah Davis (Larry), and Sherry Everhart (Ronnie); grandchildren, Lorra Davis Johnson (Bob), Jessica Davis Snyder (Jonathan), Michael Davis (Tabitha), Pamela Collins (Daniel), Rusty Everhart, and Charlie Everhart (Katie); great-grandchildren, Allee Pope (Tyler), Emilee (fiancé, Michael Channell), Robbie, and Benjamin Johnson, Heidi, Thea, and David Snyder, Bailee and Waylon Benton, Maddie and Maven Everhart, and Destiny, Karson, and Kinlee Collins; great-great-granddaughter, Audree Joy Pope; favorite grandpuppies, Waffles, Molly, Gypsy, and adopted grandpuppy Zeke; as well as many extended family members, and dear friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to all her wonderful caregivers, especially Judy Scalf, Brittany Carroll, and Kristen O'Conner and also to GG's special friend Cassidy.
