Jeffrey Harrison Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffrey (Jeff) Charles Harrison, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather. Jeff, aged 58, departed from this world on November 5, 2023 after a valiant and enduring battle with cancer.

Jeff was a man of many passions and talents. He had a profound love for tinkering with cars, a skill that allowed him to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. His dedication to perfection extended to everything he touched, from the engines he meticulously rebuilt to the friendships he nurtured over the years.

As a truck driver, Jeff roamed the open roads, finding solace in the ever-changing landscapes and the freedom of the highway. His journeys were a testament to his adventurous spirit, which he also expressed through his love for racing. Whether behind the wheel or cheering from the sidelines, Jeff's enthusiasm for the thrill of speed was infectious.

A man with a quick wit and a warm smile, Jeff had an uncanny ability to make those around him burst into laughter. His humor was a gift that brightened even the darkest of days, a reflection of his indomitable spirit.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a commitment to perfection that will forever be remembered by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Harrison, uncles, Charles Quillen, Dennis Quillen and Al Fletcher. He is survived by his sons, Wesley Harrison and Corey Harrison, daughter-in-law, Crystal Harrison, granddaughter, Bailey Harrison, step grandchildren, Anna Jarvis and Porter Jarvis, mother, Mary Harrison, brother, Greg Harrison and wife Marti, niece, Keri Harrison, nephew, Thomas Harrison, aunt, Lucretia Fletcher, and uncle, James Quillen. He is also survived by several cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home (Downtown Kingsport, TN). An entombment service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Mausoleum #4. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Mausoleum at 10:50am. Pallbearers will be Thomas Harrison, Jeff Hutchins, Brian Quillen, Denny Quillen, Brian Olinger, and Phillip Tankersley. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Gibson and James "Pappy" Goins.

We would like to give special thanks to nurses Patsy Mosley and Carey Young, and Chaplin Mike Pelham of Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a cancer research charity of your choice, in honor of Jeff's courageous battle.

Jeff will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on through the stories, the cars, the races, and the laughter he shared with all who knew him. May he find eternal peace and the open road in the skies above.
