Jerry Carter Obituary

BLAIRS GAP - Jerry Lee Carter, 62 of the Blairs Gap Community, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023 from a recent decline in health. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and enjoyed being in nature. Jerry was a good friend to many.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Light Carter; grandparents, Cole and Hazel Light; and aunt, Wilma Light.

Survivors include his fiancé, Cindy Galloway; daughter, Kristen Carter Meddars and husband Chris; son, Brandon Carter; stepchildren, Derrick Ramey, DeAndra Baker and husband Sam; grandson, Shawn Carter; step-grandchildren, Mia Baker and Samuel Baker; sister, Sherry Carter; several nieces and nephews and his little companion, Kritter.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Light Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.

Pallbearer's will be Dustin Morrison, Skyler Morelock, Brian "Homer" Stair, Harley Stair, Gary "Weasel" Hicks and Sam Baker; and honorary pallbearer is Jim Ramey.
