I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I enjoyed working with Jim when we both worked at Eastman. He had that rare combination of being able to solve very complex statistical problems to help make sense of the data and did so with a great sense of humor.
To illustrate his sense of humor, I remember after he retired from Eastman, he came back to an Eastman event and shared a story about retirement.
The story he told was: this retirement isn't the easy life people told me it would be. There is no end to the decisions you have to make. For example, every morning I get up and have to decide if I am first going to have breakfast or first go down to the mailbox and get the newspaper. Then I have to decide what I am going to have for breakfast. And then I have to decide what I am going to watch on TV. I am telling you there is not end to the decisions I have to make. So, I would advice you to keep working as long as you can.
That store was told to me maybe 15 years ago and I still remember it. It always makes me smile. He had that kind of impact on people. Helped make their day a little better.
Jim will be missed.
