KINGSPORT - Jimmie C. Mowell 88, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 26, 2024. He was born in Kingsport to the late James and Carrie Mowell. Jimmie was an avid pool shooter and enjoyed going to auctions where he would collect records. He also enjoyed working in his garage. He was known for his smile and jokes he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Mowell; second wife, Barbara Mowell; step-daughter, Pamela Hoos; step-son, Donald Gross; sisters, Betty Conklin and Dorothy Barrett.
Survivors include his sons, Gary Mowell (Tamara) and Carrie Mowell (Donna); daughter, Robin Zeng (Terry); stepchildren, Terri Hoos (Mike), Cynthia Wallace (Jay), Mark Manary (Kelly), Karena Armstrong (Darrin), and William Manary (Heather); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Mowell; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Dan Dolen officiating.
A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Jimmy will be greatly missed by all he was a great neighbor and friend our grandkids will miss him for sure they would always say wave at Jimmy ,as they went in and out of he was outside you could bet that hand was waving from the window best neighbor ever I know we are already missing him heaven s.
