Jo Ann Davis Skelton entered her heavenly home on July 25, 2025.
Born and raised in Churchill, Tennessee, Jo Ann was a longtime member of Valley View Missionary Baptist Church and attended Gravely Baptist Church in later years. She spent most of her life in Kingsport where she worked for United telephone, Sprint, and Indian Path Medical Center.
Jo Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, Helen Lee Brown Davis and William M. Davis; her sister, Mary Frances Skelton; and her brother, William McGhee Davis.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Carl Skelton; her sister, Ina Jane Long; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews: Regina Moncier (John), Becky Bishop, Tina Guiles, Karla Payne, Jo Ann Huskey, Renee Linkous, Mark Skelton (Vickie), and Stacy Long (Janice); She also cherished her great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she lovingly called the joys of her life:, Sara Moncier Brummitt (Madison), Rachel Moncier Clark (Hunter), Jackson Moncier, Ashley Long McKamey (Andrew), Emily Skelton Hawkins (Luke), Rachel Skelton Gobble (Shaun), Santana Payne, Nikki Guiles, Frankie Joe Wolverton (Hannah) and Michael Bishop – as well as several cherished great-great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 – 12:30 on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow in procession to Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be: John Moncier, Stacy Long, Mark Skelton, Jackson Moncier, Madison Brummitt, Hunter Clark, and Andrew McKamey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gravely Baptist Church or that acts of kindness be extended to others in Jo Ann's memory.
Jo Ann will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strong faith, and her deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she showed. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
