It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of John Atlee Greene's passing on June 8, 2025. John, a beloved figure in our community, was 78 years old and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Born on October 13, 1946, in Kingsport, TN, he spent his life making lasting memories with his family and friends.

John was a proud Army veteran who served in Vietnam and later dedicated his career to Eastman Chemical Company. He enjoyed life to the fullest, whether it was scuba diving, skiing, fishing or playing the guitar. His love for the Lord and his faith community at Celebration Church were integral parts of his life. Above all, John cherished his time with family, especially his granddaughter, Brooke, and his beloved pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillard and Bessie Greene; four brothers; and four sisters.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 57 years, Linda Greene; his children, Laura Hatcher (Tim) and Melissa Siele (John); his cherished granddaughter, Brooke Siele; and step-grandchildren, Ashley and Hayden Hatcher. He also leaves behind his brother Jerry Greene, sister Phyllis Byrd, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who will always remember his kind spirit.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m., officiated by Dr. Robert Russell.

John will be laid to rest at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10 a.m., where we will honor his life and service.

Pallbearers for the ceremony will be Tim Hatcher, John Siele, Mark Siele, Luke Siele, Quinton Calhoun, and Justin Calhoun.

John's heart of gold will forever be remembered, and he will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
