Johnnie Sue Smith-Clark

KINGSPORT - Johnnie Sue Smith-Clark of Kingsport passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025. Born on October 2, 1959 to Garry and Vivian Smith, she was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Johnnie graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garry Sr. and Vivian Smith; sister, Patty Cole; and nephew, Chad Monroe.

Johnnie is survived by her daughters, Mindy Clark (of the home), Amber Clark (Duran) and Jessica Clark, all of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Jazlyn, Neak, Melody, Champion (all of the home), Autumn, Jaiden and Lily; special niece, Alicia Jarrett; stepson, Jessee Clark Jr.; brother, Gary Smith Jr. (Sheila); sisters, Linda, Freida and Norma; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the Palliative Care team at Holston Valley Medical Center, Wilcox Hall (W3).

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be made to The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Rescue in Blountville, Tennessee.
