Jonathan Dominic Gilliam, 48, of Asheville, NC, passed away on August 22, 2025. Born on December 19, 1976, Jonathan, also known as Jon Dee, was a remarkable individual known for his vibrant career as an entrepreneur, entertainer, and hypnotist. He was the proud creator and performer of the Jon Dee Show, through which he brought joy and amazement to thousands, emphasizing the power and potential of the human mind.
Jon's life was not only marked by his professional achievements but also by his profound love for his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Adrianne, and a loving father to his children, Eden, Weston, and Calista. His familial bonds extended to his mother, Peggy Hood Matney, and his brother, Dwayne Gilliam, along with several nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ray Gilliam, and his brother, Richard Scott Gilliam.
A celebration of Jon's life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Christian Life Center, located at 2401 N John B Dennis Hwy, Kingsport, TN 37660. Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with the service commencing immediately afterward.
Jon's legacy will be remembered for his charismatic performances and the love he had for his family and friends. His life was a testament to the joy and wonder he brought into the world and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jon and my son Justin Baker became good friends in middle school at Fall Branch,TN. He was wonderful young man . He was at our house many times.. I know he will be truly missed and yes he was an amazing talented man. Prayers for his wife, children and other family members in the days ahead I. know how much you all miss him. the Bible says to be absent from this body is to be present with Christ and I'm sure he is.

A beautiful celebration of life for Jon on Friday evening. Dwayne, Rich and Jon are like sons for Sherry and me. We are heartbroken and will surely miss Jon. May Jesus bless and strengthen Adri, Eden, Wes and Cali. We love you guys.

In Loving Memory of Jon Dee
Jon Dee was truly an inspiration to everyone who had the honor of knowing him. His kindness, wisdom, and light touched lives in ways that words can hardly capture.
To me, Jon wasn´t just a friend, he was like a big brother. He showed up with authenticity, laughter, and love in every moment, and he reminded us all what it means to live with purpose. The love he had for his family and friends was deep and unwavering, and I feel grateful beyond measure that I had the chance to walk part of life´s journey with him.
Jon Dee was a true friend, and I will miss him forever. Though his absence leaves an ache in my heart, his legacy of love, generosity, and inspiration will never fade. I will carry his spirit with me always, cherishing the lessons he taught me and the memories we created together.
Rest peacefully, Jon. You will always be remembered, always be missed, and always be loved.
