Joseph Warren Barringer

October 25, 1936 -

June 7, 2025

Joseph Warren Barringer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud American, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2025. Born on October 25th, 1936, at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee, Joseph lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication to his family and country.

Joseph was the cherished husband of Delilah Barringer, his unwavering partner in life. He was the devoted son of Alva Bean Barringer and Joseph Eugene Barringer. He is preceded in death by his siblings Gail, Marsha, and Charles, and his beloved son, Marvin Eugene Barringer. His memory will be honored and carried forward by his sister Cheryl Warren, and brothers Doug and Don Barringer.

Joseph's legacy lives on through his children-Debra Ramey, Kristi Tate, Nicholas Barringer, and Taylor Barringer-along with his nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a part of his generous spirit, enduring strength, and boundless love.

A proud veteran, Joseph served in both the United States Navy and the Army National Guard, exemplifying his deep patriotism and sense of duty. He spent his professional life in the Food Service Industry, where his work ethic, leadership, and integrity left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond his career, Joseph found great joy in the outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying nature, he was a passionate outdoorsman. Yet his greatest joy was found in the moments shared with his family-his most treasured accomplishment.

Joseph Warren Barringer's life was one of purpose, love, and unwavering commitment. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Phil Whittemore officiating.

I met Joe through the company I work for as a caregiver. He was always so kind & loved telling me stories . One thing I will always remember about him is the love he had for his wife especially and his family . I'm so glad I got to meet him . I'll always remember the times he loved to show off his man cave and we would sit by the fire around Christmas time listening to music . You'll be truly missed Joe Barringer rest easy and ride that Harley up there in heaven

I served in the National Guard with Joe. He was a fine man and full of mischief. My condolences to the family. I know the pain as I lost my wife May 17th. We had some good times together.
