Joseph Taylor Obituary
Joseph (Joe) Taylor entered into new life on September 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Peggy McCrady and Ted Taylor. He is survived by Laura (his wife of 59 years), his daughters, Monica McDaniel (husband Bob McDaniel) and Josie Widner (husband Bruce Yates), and his six grandchildren. He is also survived by the daughter-of-his-heart, Cookie Long (daughter of Louis Long, Jr., his long-time friend).
Joe graduated in 1967 from Virginia Tech with a degree in civil engineering and spent his 30-year career with Tennessee Eastman. He enjoyed playing bridge, reading westerns, painting watercolors, and walking his beagle.
Visitation will be Friday, September 8th at East Lawn Cemetery from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a memorial service. The Rev. Scott Price of Fellowship Chapel (Joe's home church) in Bristol, VA, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Chapel, 201 Crockett Street, Bristol, VA 24201.
