Joshua Bryan Quillen May 30, 1982- June 29, 2024
Joshua Bryan Quillin passed away unexpectedly at Holston Valley Medical Center on Saturday, June 29, 2024, after a 13-year battle with M.S.
Josh was born in Kingsport, TN on May 30, 1982, and gave his heart to the Lord at an early age.
Josh was an outstanding musician, vocalist and sang with his family, The Quillin Family for about 22 years. He was an outstanding pianist, bass guitarist, and a great trumpet player.
Josh was highly educated with degrees and a background in computer and technological skills. This served him well in his careers with Eastman Credit Union and SouthEast Bank of Knoxville.
Josh was known for his musical talents, work ethic and tactful shenanigans. He was also well known and had influence on many across Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, different parts of the United States, and globally.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Revered J.B. Quillin, Reverend Fletcher Fraysier, and grandmother, Ina Ruth Fraysier.
Those left to cherish Joshua's memory are his grandmother, Irma Jean Hillman Quillin; father and mother, Buford and Judy Quillin; brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Amanda Quillin; nephew and nieces, Waylon, Maddy, and Abby Quillin; his uncle, Tim Quillin with children, Jacob and Kathryn; his aunt, Deanna Brickey and family, aunt, Kathy (and Gail) McConnell and family; uncle, Ross Fraysier and family; numerous cousins, relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in the funeral home chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Nelson officiating. Pastor Ryan Shaffer will provide the eulogy. Music and songs will be provided by lifelong friends, Tony and Bethany McGee, and Tony and Aaron Dingus.
A Graveside Service will follow at 3pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Hope.
Pallbearers will be Adam Quillin, Jeremy Jones, David and Jonathan McConnell, Richard Frasier, Landon Roberson, and Chris Rude.
Special little pallbearers will be Waylon, Maddy and Abby Quillin. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Brickey, and Crystal Nottingham.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated. Special appreciation and thanks to the Hawkins County EMS, Holston Valley Emergency Room Staff, and Phil Hoskins with Oak Hill Funeral Home.
