KINGSPORT - Juanita "Toni" Leona Aldridge Clark, 84, of Kingsport was reunited with her parents, siblings, and husband on September 24, 2023 after a brief illness. She lived a life filled with family, deep friendships, and lots of adventure.
Born July 5, 1939, in Caretta, West Virginia, to Waits Molton "Pa" and Sophia "Ma" Aldridge, Toni grew up with her siblings Pete, Ruth, Frank, Bill, and Carolyn. She graduated high school in Tazewell, Virginia and then moved to Washington D.C.
While working in Washington D.C., Toni met Roger Clark of Castlewood, Virginia and they were married in 1963. They made their home in Kingsport, Tennessee, and were blessed with three amazing children – Kevin, Linda, and David. Through her actions, Toni left a legacy for her children, nieces, and nephews including to always make time for togetherness, to be kind and have a smile for anyone, and to live life to the fullest because today is what you make it.
Throughout her life, Toni volunteered for many organizations, giving her time freely to the American Red Cross, Cub Scouts, Contact Concern, and Andrew Johnson Elementary School. She also shaped the lives of many children by serving as a teaching assistant in the area of special education.
Toni is survived by her three children; Kevin Clark (special friend Katheryn), Linda Dohnal (Chris), and David Clark (Mary Katherine); grandsons, Lucas, Garrett, and Miles Dohnal, and Grant and Elliott Clark; nieces and nephews, Billy, Rob, and Jeff Aldridge (Dana), Pam Darby (Robert), and Angie Aldridge Whitt (Barry). She is also survived by many special great nieces and nephews who she thought of as grandchildren.
