Karen Housewright Sproles, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at the age of 58, following a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Born on June 30, 1966, Karen brought light, warmth, and strength to everyone who knew her. She had a nurturing spirit and a quiet resilience that carried her and her loved ones through life's many ups and downs. Karen was a constant source of love and support, always putting family first and leaving a legacy of kindness, grace, and perseverance.

Karen had a passion for cooking and found joy in sharing meals with the people she loved most. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple weeknight dinner, her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection. She also loved to fish-finding peace and happiness in the quiet moments by the water, often casting a line with family by her side.

She is survived by her devoted husband, James Sproles Jr.; her daughter, Brittany Qualls, and son-in-law, Seth Qualls; her son, Travis Sproles; and Lyndsey Bowers, who held a special place in Karen's heart and was loved as a member of the family. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Bryan Crawford; her nephews, Cody Crawford and Peyton Franklin; and her niece, Misti Jenkins and her husband, Chad Jenkins.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Lynn Housewright and Wanda Faye Housewright, and her brother, Melvin Housewright.

Karen's love and presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all who were lucky enough to know her.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a graveside service to honor Karen's life on Monday, April 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Old Union Methodist Church, located at 749 Old Union Rd, Church Hill, TN 37642. The service will be provided by her father-in-law, James Sproles.
