KINGSPORT - Kathy Peters, 70, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, after a brief illness. She was a loving wife, now gone to be with Jesus and join Tony in her Heavenly home.
Kathy worked at the Kingsport Press and retired from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.
She attended Speer's Ferry Church.
Kathy enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting.
After Tony passed away, she was heartbroken, Tony was her soul mate, love of her life and her best friend.
Kathy was a great friend and will be missed by all who loved her.
Preceding Kathy in death are her parents, Ed and Mildred Gregg; husband, Tony Peters.
Surviving are her faithful dogs, Lucky and Chloe; sister, Julie Kidd; brother-in-law, Earl Peters and wife, Karen, and their family; daughter, Sonya Peters and husband, Tommy; son, Randy Peters and wife, Sandi; special friend, Barbara Smith; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home from 1:00-1:45 pm.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Evangelist Bill Tignor officiating.
The Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingsport Animal Shelter, 3101 East Stone Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.

Kathy was a funny, generous person and a good friend to the family (Hensley) back in the day. The lights are a little dimmer now. Rest in peace Kathy and prayers for the family.
