Kay Dale Obituary

Kay Yates Dale

March 23, 2026

KINGSPORT - Kay Yates Dale went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 23 2026, one day shy of her 85th birthday.

She was born in Perry County, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Clara (Hay) Yates. Her family moved to Kingsport, TN when she was very young and she spent the rest of her life there.

She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who always put the needs of her family ahead of her own and was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was an amazing woman who will forever live in our hearts.

During her lifetime, Kay worked for Hunter Smith and Davis; Mason Dixon Lines and The Wray Law Firm.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Hot Dog" Dale; her sister, Patsy Robinette; brother-in law, Bruce Robinette; and her brothers Thomas Yates and Ronald Yates.

Kay is survived by her precious children, daughter Ellen Horton and husband Mike and son Jon Dale and fiancée Stephanie Brumley; grandson Chandler Dale; brother Steve Yates and wife Charlene; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and an amazing circle of friends.

Special thanks to Patsy, Kelly, Karey and the whole team at Smoky Mountain Hospice for taking such wonderful care of our Mom and helping us to navigate through this difficult journey.

Pursuant to Kay's request, there will be no memorial service.
