GATE CITY, VA - Kevin "Michael" Howington, 57, of Gate City, VA, entered into rest on Friday, June 6, 2025 after a lengthy illness.
Michael was born on January 13, 1968 in Kingsport, TN, a son of the late Robert Clinton Howington and Edna Mae (Lark) Howington. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie, Gary, Gerald and Neil Howington.
Michael attended Gate City High School and worked for over 25 years for A&L and Abernathy Construction. He enjoyed fishing and watching The Andy Griffith Show. Michael loved riding on the dirt roads in his younger years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Nichole Stanley and husband Mike, Gate City, VA; granddaughters, Nora Estep, Ashley Stanley and Morgan Stanley; sisters, Rita Dingus and husband Phillip, Weber City, VA, and Denise Reed and husband Buford, Gate City, VA; brothers, Alan Howington and wife Phyllis, Duffield, VA, Eddie Howington, Kingsport, TN, Larry Howington and wife Cindy, Kingsport, TN; mother of his daughter and special friend, Tammie Dixon, Gate City, VA; several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Michael's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no formal services.
