Lanny Michael "Mike" Sloan September 28, 1957- May 19, 2024
GATE CITY, VA - Lanny Michael "Mike" Sloan, 66, Gate City, VA, passed away, Monday, May 19, 2024, at his residence.
Mike was born on September 28, 1957, in Sullivan County, TN, to the late Glen Arlie Sloan, and Ruby Inez Stapleton Sloan.
Mike worked for Kingsport Motors for 35 years as a parts manager, and later retired from Komatsu. He had a passion for music and played with several different bands throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Karen Sloan preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Donna Sloan, Gate City, VA; daughters, Ashley Sloan, Rogersville, TN, and Kaitlyn McQueen (Justice), Kingsport, TN; sons, Matthew Lundy (Emily), Kingsport, TN, and Joshua Sloan (Shalena), Gate City, VA; mother-in-law, Frances Lipe; sister, Cathy Quillen (Danny); brothers, Ronnie Sloan (Misty), and Gary Sloan; grandchildren, Allaya Sloan, Allison Sloan, Everley Lundy, Miles Lundy, and Amara McQueen; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA, with Brother Danny Quillen officiating.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
