COLUMBUS, GA - Larry N. Butts went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 9,2023 at the age of 72 after a brief illness. He was born November 8,1951. He was preceded in death by his parents Elijah Butts Jr, and Hattie Holmes Butts of Columbus, Ga.
He was a counselor at Alchemy Substance Abuse Facility in Columbus, Ga. He married the belated Diana Morris. They had one child Katia Holloway (Troy).
He continued his career at Indian Path Pavilion in Kingsport, Tn Larry remarried Deborah Hoard and had one child Kalina Butts. They have one granddaughter, TaMar Sims. Larry was also an entrepreneur by opening an Urban Wear Clothing store in Bristol, TN. Larry would also travel around the Tri-Cities selling his fashions. Larry was a very social person strong in his faith, and always had encouraging words for his family and friends.
He is survived by his siblings Victoria Butts (Kingsport, TN), Vanessa Scretchen-Spivey (Stanley Spivey), Elijah Butts III of Columbus, Ga., Mark Butts (Tiffany), Glenda Butts, Gloria Butts and Lorenzo Butts (Michelle) of Kingsport, TN. several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 2-5pm in Progressive Funeral Home Chapel. The Homecoming Celebration for Mr. Larry N. Butts will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Wynnton Road Church of God in Christ with interment at Glaze Cemetery in Ellerslie, Ga.

I loved Larry like a brother..We played basketball for the hospital team for years and he could rebound and put a sweet hook shot in...Real sweet man...I liked him the day I met him
