APPALACHIA, VA - Larry Jimmy Homer Robinette, 76, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Larry was born on October 11, 1948, in Big Stone Gap.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Larry became a coal miner for Westmoreland Coal Company (Prescott). He left the mining industry and moved to Traveler's Rest, SC. There he started his own business, R&G Manufacturing, with his brother-in-law, Carl David Gibson. He began a second company a few years later, Quality Products Inc.
Larry was an excellent electrician, mechanic, truck driver, and businessman. He loved his country, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Brumitt; his father, Homer Robinette; his sister, Debra McAdams; his brother Jeffrey Robinette; his brother-in-law, Carl David Gibson; and his grandmother, Florence White.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Tammy Dawn Robinette of Appalachia; his son, Timothy Larry Robinette (Beth) of Dryden; his daughter, Marjorie Melina (Dylan) of Traveler's Rest, SC; his stepson, Juan Osbaldo Cisneros Chavez (Megan) of Marietta, SC; his grandson, Caleb Clayton Johnson (Brittany) of Appalachia; his grandson, Jayden Cisneros Chavez of Marietta, SC; his siblings, Thomas D. Robinette (Bo) of Appalachia, Caroly Gibson of Traveler's Rest, SC, Donna Clawdy of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Cathy Mullins (Gary) of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, VA (17 E, 3rd St. N. Big Stone Gap) from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted following in the Funeral Home's chapel with Russell Herron officiating. Special Music will be provided by: Russell Herron
His burial will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. The Local V.F.W. and D.A.V. will conduct military rites. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Holding Funeral Home at 11:30 to travel in procession to the cemetery.
