Leslie Allen Bright May 6, 1943 - July 26, 2024
KINGSPORT - Leslie Allen Bright, 81, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024. He was born on May 6, 1943 in Mount Carmel, TN, and graduated from Church Hill High School, class of 1961. A veteran of the US Marine Corps from 1961-1964 as a helicopter mechanic. He entered into an apprenticeship at Eastman as a machinist in 1965. Leslie became a master machinist and retired from Eastman in 1997. Post retirement he enjoyed creating stained glass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Newland and Winnie Lee Bradford Bright; siblings, Sidney Bright, Lillian Riner, Willard Bright, Leonard Bright, Hubert Bright and Dwight Bright.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Sue Bright; children, Chris Bright and Leslie Bright (Laura); grandchildren, Amanda, Alex and Abby; great-granddaughter, Luci; siblings, Gary Bright and Susan Bright.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 6:00-7:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Hancock officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1:00pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
