KINGSPORT - Lillian V. Lane, 92, of Kingsport, died Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2024 at The Waters after a brief illness. Born in Smyth County, VA, she resided in Kingsport most of her life. She retired from Bowen's Deli where she worked as a cook. Lillian was a longtime member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Lane; parents, William and Juanita Overbay; two sisters, Helen Dunn and Peggy Thompson; three brothers, Clifton, William and J.D. Overbay.
She is survived by four daughters, Jackie McMurray and husband, Clifford, Martha Carter and husband, Steven, Sarah Bennett, and husband, Terry and Vanessa Lawson and husband, Frank; eight grandchildren: sixteen great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Hale and Mary Tucker; brothers, Benny Overbay and Jerry Overbay; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00pm with Pastor Todd Jennings and Pastor Terry Bennett officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:00am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Blountville. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
