Linda Skeen Hamilton, age 80, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 17, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Powell Valley, Linda spent most of her life in Big Stone Gap. She worked in the medical field and with various agencies across Virginia and Tennessee, always following God's calling to help others. She was an active and devoted member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church. Linda had a deep love for flowers, nature, and life itself. She found great joy and fulfillment in caring for the Skeen Family Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Golf and Bessie Mae Skeen; her brothers, Ronnie Skeen, Paul Light, and Carl Light; her sister, Mary Elizabeth Gunn; her nephews, Eddie and Ray Gunn; and her beloved husbands, Rex McKee and Robert Hamilton.
Linda is survived by her brother, Donnie Skeen of Big Stone Gap; her daughter, Lisa (Norman) Trent; her son, Dwayne (Kim) McKee; and her grandchildren, Ronnie (Wendy) Trent, Casey (Lindsey) McKee, and Amiee (Korey) Adkins. She also leaves behind her cherished great-granddaughters, Nevaeh Trent, Lacie McKee, and Kenzie McKee, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends-each of whom she loved deeply.
Linda's life was a testament to faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family of Linda Skeen Hamilton will receive friends on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, Virginia (17 E. 3rd Street North).
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the Chapel of Holding Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Hill officiating. Special music will be provided by Holding Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the service at the Skeen Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Estep, Norman Trent, Donnie Skeen, Dwayne McKee, Casey McKee, and Ronnie Trent.
