Linda Matthews Obituary
GATE CITY, VA - Linda Minton Matthews, 80, Gate City, VA, passed away, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Linda was born in Nickelsville, VA, on November 23, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Kermit Anson Minton, and Lora Drucilla (Dougherty) Minton Rasnick.
Along with her parents, her husband, Wilbur "Flip" Morrison Matthews; stepdaughter, Linda Robertson; and brother, William Frank Minton preceded her in death.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Lora Anne Matthews, Gate City, VA, and stepdaughter, Kathy Rigney (Lonnie) Ferrum, VA; sisters, Wilma Broadwater (Gary), Nickelsville, VA, and Melba Lovett, Jacksonville, FL; brother, Anson Minton (Brenda), Nickelsville, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-2p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, with Rev. Rance Edwards of Nickelsville Methodist officiating. David and Debbie Easterling will provide the music.
Graveside services will follow at the Francisco Cemetery in Big Moccasin. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
