Lora "Christine" Overbay March 6, 1951 - August 18, 2024
MOUNT CARMEL - Lora "Christine" Overbay, age 73, of Mount Carmel, Tennessee, entered the arms of Jesus, while surrounded by her family, on Sunday, August 18, 2024. She fought her short battle with cancer courageously and with a lot of faith in her Lord and Savior.
Born March 6, 1951, she attended Pleasant View Baptist Church for most of her life. Sweet, precious, loving and most of all sassy; Christine was the best Mamaw, Mom and Wife anyone could ask for. She loved her family fiercely and spoiled all of her grandchildren rotten. Her family was always her priority, and we are going to miss her so very much.
Christine is preceded in death by her mother, Avia Adams and her father, M. Thomas Adams. Left to cherish her memories are her devoted and loving husband of fifty-three years, Benny Overbay; one son, Brian Overbay and wife, Rebecca; one daughter, Jennifer Ward and husband, Jonathan; two grandsons, Zachary Overbay and fiancée Jillian Cox; and Dylan Overbay; two granddaughters, Megan Ward and Macey Ward; one brother, Wayne Adams; and one sister, Shirley Hite.
The family will receive friends from 5PM-7PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Kingsport. Funeral services will immediately follow, at 7PM, with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Graveside Services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11AM. Please meet at the graveside at 10:50am. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.

So sorry about the passing of Christine. I had the privilege of talking with her at the hospital several weeks ago. It was so good to see her again. We worked together at the drugstore several years ago. She was always so sweet and kind.
Expressing sympathy and prayers for all the family.
