Lowell W. Lowe June 14, 2024
CHURCH HILL - Lowell W. Lowe, 82, of Church Hill, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family following a two year battle with Interstitial Lung Disease. Lowell was born in Gate City, VA and was a 1960 graduate of Gate City High School. After graduation he joined the Marine Corps and he served for four years. After he was honorably discharged, he was employed at Eastman where he worked for 33 years as an organic chemical operator.
His retirement was filled with traveling, flowers, yardwork and pulling for the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lantha Williams Lowe; and two sisters, Helen Peters Touton and Jackie Bellamy.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jean Ryans Lowe; sister, Phyllis Lowe; brother-in-law, Joe Bellamy; sisters-in-law, Judy Ryans Wampler, Betty Ryans Stewart and husband, Victor, and Deborah Horner; three special nieces, Lisa Castle and husband, Mike, Susan Peters and Jenny Peters; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Henry Bellamy.
The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice for their compassionate care of Lowell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Military Rites by American Legion Posts 3/265. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lowell's honor to the Hawkins County Humane Society, 5180 US Hwy 11W, Rogersville, TN 37857.

Many memories of our school years together especially all of those baseball games. Also, those Manville years of baseball. One of the best pitchers in tri-cities area. Friend indeed!
