Lucian Christian Obituary

Lucian H. Christian

November 30, 1945 -

August 22, 2025

CHURCH HILL – Lucian H. Christian, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

Lucian was born on Nov. 30, 1945, to his parents, the late Ralph & Maggie Sue Christian. He was the youngest of their three children. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins Co. Lucian was saved at a young age at Lone Oak Baptist Church. He retired from American Mechanical Contractors after 30+ years of service. After his retirement he spent his time at home farming. Lucian didn't know a stranger & was loved by all who knew him. He loved to ride around, visit friends & neighbors & loved spending time with his great nephew Jason hanging around the funeral home. Lucian always looked forward to going to Georgia for monument pickups, setting monuments, stopping by the funeral home daily to read the newspaper, or to hang out and talk to everyone. It was time he truly cherished. Lucian was the Bassett Hound of the funeral home as some of them called him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Frances & Earl Benton; brother, Raymond Christian; special niece, Vickie Patterson; & his nephews, Keith, David & Mark Benton.

Lucian is survived by his great nephews, Jason Patterson & his wife, Angie, Brandon Byrd, Eddie Justin Patterson (Megan), Aaron Bradshaw (Kendra), & Josh Bradshaw (Jackie),special great great nieces who affectionately referred to him as "Shoo Shoo", Madison, Maci & McKenna; great great nephew, Atlee Bradshaw, great great niece, Abigail Bradshaw; niece, Amy Bradshaw; nephews, Nick Christian, & Rick Christian; great niece, Kellie Neeley; great nephew Chris Bradshaw, special neighbors & friends, Glenn Gilliam, Mark Boguard, Stevie Arnold, & Dickie Hutson; along with several cousins, & many dear friends.

The family would like to express a sincere heartfelt thank you to Suncrest Hospice nurse, Jackie Reeves, and CNA, Jessica Turner, along with his wonderful caregivers, Netta Frye, Anita Kinkead, Kathy Derrick, Stevie Arnold & David Million.

A visitation will be held from 5 - 7 PM on Wed., Aug. 27, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Simpson officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thurs., Aug. 28, 2025, at Christians Bend Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason, & Eddie Justin Patterson, Brandon Byrd, Aaron Bradshaw, Glenn Gilliam, & Mark Boguard.
