Lucy Mann June 30, 1930- July 16, 2024
DUNGANNON, VA - Bonnie Lucille "Lucy" Mann, 94, Dungannon, VA, passed away, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at her residence.
Lucy was born in Dungannon, VA, on June 30, 1930, to the late James H. Hensley, and Myrtle Blevins Hensley.
Lucy was a member of First Baptist Church of Dungannon, and also attended Cassell's Chapel.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She loved working in her garden and canning the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed cooking, specially making candy and cakes to share with her friends and neighbors.
Along with her parents, her husband, Scott Mann; son, Jeffrey Mann; sisters, Jenell Hensley, Janice Osborne, Linda Frasier, and Gladys Mann preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Teresa Sluss (Wayne); grandson, Jordan Sluss; sisters, Selby Childress, Patty Hensley, and Carol Williams (Clayton); brothers, George Hensley (Peggy), Joe Hensley (Judy), Bill Hensley (Charlotte), and James Hensley Jr.; special friends, Howard and Alma Stewart, Barbara Hillman, Barbara Hubbard, Tempie Bryant, and Amy Addington; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, with Larry Beavers officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Osborne Family Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45a.m., for the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Share the Blessing c/o First Baptist Church of Dungannon, P.O. Box 258 Dungannon, VA, 24245.
