March 21, 1940 - September 29, 2024
DUFFIELD, VA - Luther Hiram Minor, Sr., 84, Duffield, VA, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 4-7p.m., on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Garry Hood officiating. The Hood Family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Friday, October 4, 2024, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond, Post #3, Kingsport, TN, Post #265, Gate City, VA, National Guard Honors Team.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15p.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Brothers and brothers-in-law will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Parkinson's Foundation.

Angie and family. We were so sorry to learn of the passing of your precious dad. He wore a lot of hats and will be missed by those who he was involved. We think of you guys and your parents any time we pass their old home on memorial. I would love to come to gate city for services for your dad and see everyone but I have health issues tying me to oxygen 24/7 and can't walk too much. When you can get in touch somehow. Luther was my golf instructor 25 years ago. We became great friends and had many great times together. He will be greatly missed.
