GRAY - Lyle Ellis Eagle, 92, of Gray, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, peacefully at his home.
Lyle was born on June 4, 1933, in Kingsport, to the late John Hugh and Emily Alvis Eagle.
He was an Army Veteran and a member of Sulphur Springs Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Willie Giles Eagle; and son, Leslie Keith Eagle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter-in-law, Brenda Eagle; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Eagle (Bobby Tharp), Keith Eagle (Adrianne), and Rebecca Eagle; great- grandchildren, Keaton (Madisyn), Karastyn, Riley, Kaylyn, Molly, Bray, Violet, Gemma and Jack; great-great-grandson, Koa; his dog, Suzie; brother-in-law, Forrest Giles (Peggy); several nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Keith Eagle and Pastor Scott Brady officiating.
A Military Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the Garden of the Last Supper at Oak Hill Memorial Park and will be under the direction of the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Lyle's neighbors, John, Tiffany, Kaydee, and Gracie Keen, as well as his Visiting Angel, Robin Coggins.

I was saddened to hear of his passing, since we had just talked a couple days before. I will sure miss him and I wish the family peace and comfort in knowing that he's at peace with sweet Willie.

Lyle looks like he I did in high school. He is easily recognize. I didn´t know he was my elder!
