MOUNT CARMEL – Mack Ray Ward, Jr., 46, went home to be with the Lord and entered into eternal rest and peace on February 13, 2024.
Mack "Ray" was born in Kingsport, TN and had lived in Mount Carmel, TN where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Volunteer High School in 1996. Mack "Ray" enjoyed football; with his favorite teams being UT of Knoxville and the Miami Dolphins, karate, and Star Wars. Mack "Ray" was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He freely gave his time to help his family and friends whenever they needed help.
Mack "Ray" was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John E and Donna Mae Winegar Ward; maternal grandparents, Lester and Lula Jones; and his uncle, Larry Jones.
He is survived by his parents, Mack, Sr. and Brenda Ward; sister, Maggie Elizabeth Ward; aunts, Barbara Jones, Deborah Jones; uncles, Jimmy Jones and Larry Ward (Janie); cousins, Anthony Jones (Bridget), Stephen Jones, Bella Jones, and Crystal (Lamar) Mitchell.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Elders Paul Strong, Casey Skelton, and David Roller. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 PM.
