ROGERSVILLE - Margaret Walker, age 97, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at Signature Healthcare of Rogersville after a period of declining health. She was a member of Rogersville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Walker was Grand Matron of Eastern Star of Maryland. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Thomas Walker, Jr., parents Claude and Mae Gressett Walker, and sister Katherine Wilkens.
Survivors include daughters Patricia Walker-Williams of Richmond, VA., Catherine Newport (John) of Frederick, Maryland, sons William Walker of Surgoinsville and Joseph Walker, III (Pamela) of Rogersville, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Gene Richardson of Suffolk, VA.
There will be no local services however, graveside services will be announced at a later date by Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
