Marie Nelms Obituary
Born in Sullivan County, TN on February 23, 1928; left life and time behind on June 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband H. Eugene Nelms, daughter Sharon Nelms, parents Alvin and Lochiel (Shipley) Barger and sister Mary Patterson. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Nelms; sister Betty Barker; adopted son Pete Hedburg; several very special nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-grandniece.
She was employed by Sears and Sears Payment Systems, retiring in 1990. She was a caring person who enjoyed nature, travel, photography, flower arranging and spending time with family and friends. She was very civic minded and belonged to several community organizations.
Marie will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, June 19th at 10:30 am. Burial in East Lawn Memorial Park to follow the service. Rev. Ray Amos will officiate the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jericho Shrine Transportation for the Children, St. Jude's or Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

So glad we were able to visit with Marie and Joyce in March. Thank you Joyce for letting us know that she was in hospice care. Marie was such a joy to be around! What a sweet lady.
