KINGSPORT - Mark Harris, 67, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on June 29th, 2024, after an extended illness. Mark's love for God and his family was evident in everything he did, alongside his unwavering support for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was a devoted Sunday school teacher and a passionate mentor to children throughout his life. He also found great joy in traveling with his loved ones, embracing new adventures and experiences wherever they took him. Mark's infectious enthusiasm for life and his commitment to serving others left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maryl Harris.
Mark is survived by his wife of 24 years, Valorie Harris; stepchildren, Rusty Sells and Christina Webster; chosen grandchildren and best buddies, Roman Dotson and River Pounders; siblings, Douglas Harris (Deborah), Joyce Harris, and Terry Harris (Rhonda); and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Vision Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Kyle Falin and Harlan McDavid officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Russell Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Sells, Cody Harris, Travis Harris, Jeff Dotson, Randy Helton, Henry Horton, Ronnie Rhea, and Gary Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Lowell Harris, Larry Simmons, and Steve Shelton.
