Mark Edward Mellons, aged 76 years, was called home unexpectedly on December 29th.
He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Sue and great granddaughter, Scarlett, both of the home; his children: Scott, Dickie, David, Kathy (& Chris), Johnny, and Mark (& Lynette); his grandchildren: Andrew, Cori (& Logan), and Chloe; his siblings: Cathi and Michael (& Patty); a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends.
Mark, known to most as "Big Mark", was born and raised in Kingsport. He spent his young adult life mastering auto mechanics and auto body, bass fishing, and eventually going on to travel the country as a long-haul truck driver.
His passions included fast cars, fishing, and family. Big Mark will be remembered for his extraordinary talents for sure, but it will be his willingness to help others and love of family that will be missed the most.
Mark will be laid to rest Friday, January 5th at 12 pm (or as he would say, high noon) at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of the Apostles. Services will include a graveside gathering for family and close friends.
