KIIGNSPORT - Marlene Hutchins, 69, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center with her loved ones and family by her side. She was born in Ohio and had lived in Kingsport since her childhood. Marlene attended Lynn View High School. She was employed by Flour Daniels as a time keeper for more than twenty years. Marlene was of the Christian faith. She loved to garden and especially loved caring for her family and her special grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother: Eva "Granny" Simpson.

Marlene is survived by her long-time companion of 30 years, Dan Kiser; son, Shane Hutchins and wife Kristi; grandchildren, Isaac Hutchins and wife Logan; and Savannah Hutchins; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Murphy Hutchins; mother Edna Fletcher; siblings, Marty Ward and wife Tammy, Mike Ward and wife Debbie, Marvin Ward, Mitch Ward and wife Cheryl, Mack Fletcher and wife Joan, and Marsha Ward; several nieces and nephews; and special great niece, Allie Fletcher.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
