Martha O. Kirk November 10, 1937 - July 11, 2024
BIRMINGHAM, AL - Martha O. Kirk passed away on Thursday, July 11th, 2024 at her home in Birmingham, Alabama. Martha was the youngest of thirteen children and was born in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico on November 11th, 1937. She graduated from El Paso Technical Institute in1959 and became a U.S. citizen in 1961. She moved to Kingsport in 1962 where she remained for 57 years before moving to Birmingham.
She generously gave much of her time to St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Kingsport community. For many years she was involved in various charities, Spanish ministries at the church, and was an interpreter for the local hospitals and the police department while volunteering at Holston Valley hospital. She was very artistic and enjoyed activities including painting and quilting.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Kirk, her parents Jose and Maria Dominguez, as well as all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by four daughters Lisa Bailey (Scott) of Coppell, TX, Patsy Kirk of Fairhope, AL, Becky Lockhart (Mark) of Birmingham, AL, and Teresa Allen (Tony) of Birmingham, AL. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Evan and Connor Bailey, Haley Lockhart Jones (Conner) and Ryan and Jack Lockhart.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10th, from 10:00 until 11:00am at St. Dominic Catholic Church with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 with Father Michael Cummins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Martha to the Alzheimer's Association.

So sorry to hear of Martha´s passing.She was a very kind and loving person.She gave much to help her community and her church,St .Dominic´s.Martha and Bob were great friends with my parents.I remember my mom and Martha talking about their good friendship together to me.She will be missed but I know she is an angel now in heaven and with the friends and family who have gone before her.My family and I will keep Martha and and family in our prayers.God´s Blessings to all!

I am so sorry to hear about your Mother´s passing! She was a good friend of my Mother and Father as well as everyone she was friends! Martha was a compassionate woman and a great Catholic! Always lending a helping hand to anyone she knew! I will miss her! I knew two of her daughters Becky & Teresa as they were friends with Sonja and Stephanie! My daughters! She always kept her girls as close as possible! To her whole family God Bless and help you in these trying times! Everyone is in my prayers! I hope to be able to attend her funeral at St Dominic´s.
