BOWIE, MD - Martha Beatrice Lee Sensabaugh Redford of Bowie, Md., and formerly of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
She was born on August 30, 1929, in Wilder, Va., to the late Samuel H. and Cora Lee Sensabaugh. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Redford Jr.; son, Larry Darnell Redford; sisters, Virginia Sensabaugh and Dorothy Sherfield; brothers, Samuel (June) H. Sensabaugh Jr., Herbert (Hoover) Sensabaugh, Clearthur Rudolph Sensabaugh and Eddie (Butch) Stennett.
She graduated from Swift Memorial High School in Rogersville, Tenn. She was employed with Roanoke City Schools, and she worked numerous part-time jobs after retirement. Martha was a faithful member of the Price Memorial AME Zion Church in Roanoke, Va.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Redford Jackson; son-in-law, James Jackson; grandson, Trevor Jackson; sisters, Lillie Ruth Mabry, Helen Bland, and Margaret Johnson; and a host of extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Oakey's North Chapel with the family receiving friends following the service until 4 p.m. The family requested that everyone attending to please wear purple, Martha's favorite color.
