KINGSPORT - Mary Jane Kilkenny Cantrill, age 88 of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at The Waters of Bristol. Mary was born in Louisville, KY to the late Bernard and Leota Fields Kilkenny. She was a faithful member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church.

As a young adult Mary worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in Lexington and was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel.

Mary loved all things arts and crafts, especially quilting, cross-stitch, and creating floral arrangements. She also enjoyed studying her Irish genealogy. Mary will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, William Stone Cantrill.

Survivors include: four children, Catherine and her husband Bill Cradic, Julia and her husband Greg Holt, William P. Cantrill, and Joseph Cantrill and his wife Cynthia; six grandchildren, Joshua and Austyn Cantrill, Makaylee and Savannah Cradic and Katie and Daniel Holt; siblings, Ann Marie Elbert, and John Kilkenny and his wife Patricia, as well as numerous niece and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 10:00am until 11:00am at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 2517 N. John B. Dennis Hwy. Kingsport, TN. A funeral mass will follow beginning at 11:00am with Father Michael Cummins officiating. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 11:00am in Mountain Home National Cemetery with Deacon Frank Fischer officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
