Mary Alice (Millhorn) Cross March 24, 1929- May 22, 2024
Mary Alice Cross 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2024. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Mary Alice was born on March 24, 1929, at her home on Beulah Church Road in Kingsport, the daughter of Louis and Anna Bob Millhorn. She was a dedicated Member of Beulah Baptist Church her entire life. Mary Alice was an active member of the choir, served as a leader for the Girls Auxiliary, where she took the girls to camp, and hosted many church activities for members on the farm.
In addition to her parents, Mary Alice was predeceased by her husband of over 62 years, Carroll Blake Cross; brother, JP Millhorn and sister, Bobby Jo Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patricia Ann Cross Johnston (Joe); son, Robert Allen Cross (Jamie); Grandchildren, Stephanie Ann Johnston Sweet (Michael), Staci Jo Johnston, Alaina Renee Cross, and Robbie James Cross (Carleigh); Great-grandchildren, Addie and Emmie Cross; sister, Joyce Hall and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Al South. Graveside services will follow in the Beulah Community Cemetery, 491 Beulah Church Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
Pallbearers will be David Cross, Steve Coffman, Dennis King, Gary Olinger, Wayne Olinger and Jack Bradshaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wendell Millsap and David Poe.
The family extends their appreciation to Brookdale Assisted Living, Goodlettesville, TN, for loving and caring for Mary Alice, where she resided the last few years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 491 Beulah Church Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.

Wilma and I are sorry to hear about Mary Alice. She was a sweet person and a good Friend at Church. Our Prayers go out to Family in this time of Sorrow.
We have a lot of memories of Her and that is something that goes with us
the rest of our lives.
