I am heartbroken to hear of Mary´s passing. She was one of the most important people in my life during our twenties and thirties-a dear friend, a trusted mentor, and someone who helped shape both my career and the person I became.
We stood beside each other as we married the loves of our lives, and for years we met almost weekly to talk about work and life. Professionally, Mary was endlessly generous with her guidance, always helping me be better. I spent many evenings at the Wheeler-Resch home and was so grateful that Mary married someone so wonderful and perfectly matched to her. I love that I got to know her parents "Daddy" (Bill) Resch and Jane Ellen and then Ruth. I always looked forward to their visits to Dallas.
I always knew how lucky I was to have such a smart, pragmatic, calm, fun, and deeply caring friend-and her husband-in my life. Though moving away from Texas eventually took us in different directions, I never stopped loving Mary or being grateful for the role she played in my life. There was simply no one else like her, and I will always be thankful to have known her.

I am so very sad to hear of Mary's passing. We were such good friends in high school and thereafter. Although we did not keep in touch well all these years, I loved her. My heartfelt condolences to Paul, to Ellen, to all of the family.
