KINGSPORT - Mary Tucker, 78, of Kingsport, was called home by her Savior on December 25, 2024 to celebrate Christmas in Heaven. She was born in Sullivan County and graduated from Sullivan High School. Mary married Artie Tucker on January 20, 1968. She was a homemaker until she went to work at Piccadilly Cafeteria where she retired in 2008. Mary liked to watch game shows, crime documentaries and life-time movies.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Artie Tucker; parents, William and Lillian Overbay; sisters, Peggy Thompson, Helen Dunn, Lillian Lane; brothers, Isaac Overbay, James Overbay and Clifton Overbay.

Survivors include her daughters, Amy Blair and husband, Billy, Kelly Tucker; sister, Thelma Hale; brothers, Jerry Overbay and Benny Overbay; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Hospice care at Holston Valley Medical Center for their support during her stay.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 5:00-7:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00pm.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
