McKinley Trent Christian October 23, 1936- September 17, 2024
McKinley Trent Christian, 87 went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday morning September 17, 2024. She is now reunited with her husband Donald G. Christian and daughter Kathy Kilgore. Also preceding her in heaven are her mother and father Lewis Cass and Johnnie Trent, brothers, June, Press, Joe, Clay and Charles Trent. Sisters, Amma Lee Walters and Mary Kate Manning.
We will miss her so much. She was a wonderful Christian Mother, Grandmother, sister, friend and everyone's Boss. She had a wonderful quick wit and dry sense of humor. She retired from Hawkins County Schools as a bus driver where she really loved and mothered her children.
She instructed me to tell everyone that she loves them dearly and to make their plans to meet her in heaven. We are so thankful to know without a doubt that she now has eternal healing with a glorified body in the likeness of Jesus. She is no longer suffering in her earthly body that just finally wore out.
Waiting for the day to be reunited with her are her sons, Greg and Carlos Christian; daughters, Renee Cloyd and Donna Christian; special son-in-law, Tony Kilgore; sister, Minnie Davidson; brothers, Jack, Ray and Ralph Trent; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Guila Christian and Kay Davis; also, her grandchildren whom she adored Mark, Michelle, Issac, Matthew, Kristin, Brianna and Zachare; plus 10 precious great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved very much.
The family will receive friends at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Afterward there will be a celebration of life memorial service led by Preacher Richard McGinnis and Pastor John Rogers. Special music will be provided by Josh Wenger.
There will be a graveside service on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the Christian Family Cemetery at 3924 Carters Valley Rd. We will meet at the funeral home at 1:30 pm and go in procession to the cemetery.
In closing the family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Holston Valley Hospital that cared for her this past month. We are grateful! Also, a big thank you to all of our neighbors and friends who have supported and prayed for us over the years.

McKinley was my bus driver many decades ago. She was always nice to me. Hit the hump, McKinley!
