Melody Ruth "Kermie" Bobrosky July 26, 2024
KINGSPORT, TN/BIG STONE GAP, VA - Melody Ruth "Kermie" Bobrosky, 56, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Select Speciality/Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tn., following an extended illness.
She was born and raised in Big Stone Gap, was a 1986 graduate of Powell Valley High School, attended MECC, studying business and had lived in Kingsport, Tn. for over 30 years. She worked earlier at the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon, Va. as a bakery manager. She most recently worked as a bank courier for Trans Solutions and Logistics, LLC. Melody loved cooking, baking, camping and being on the lake with friends and family.
She was preceded by her father, Steve J. Bobrosky, Sr.; a sister, Vickie Johnson; a brother, Mark Bobrosky; a sister-in-law, Velma Bobrosky; and a brother-in-law, John Johnson.
Melody is survived by her dear mother, Mary Kate (Matda) Bobrosky, Big Stone Gap; brother, Steve Bobrosky, Jr. (Cathy), East Stone Gap, Va.; sisters, Donna Ball and Cindy Foley (Brad), both of Big Stone Gap; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, including a special great-niece, Karley Riggs, who helped care for Melody during her illness; and special friends, Rhonda Sturgill, Kellie Gembach Ivens and Carolyn Baldwin.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of Specialty Select at Bristol Regional Medical Center for their caring, professional care.
The family will receive friends 1:00pm - 3:00pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave, E., Big Stone Gap, Va. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00pm with Pastor Ricky Oakes officiating. Music will be provided by Barbara Collins Fleming.
