KINGSPORT - Michael David Carico, 72, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 16, 2026.
He was born August 26, 1953, in Kingsport, to the late Ronald and Peggy Bussell Carico.
Michael was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who made family his main priority.
He was a committed Christian and active member of Indian Springs Baptist Church where he served faithfully in numerous ministry capacities.
Michael retired in 2021, as C.F.O. from GRC Construction/CRW Architectural Firm of Kingsport.
He was a charter member of the Kingsport Downtown Rotary Club.
One of his true loves was playing basketball for 50+ years, winning and playing in several tournaments while making lifelong friendships along the way.

Michael graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1971, and E.T.S.U. in 1975.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Duke Carico and Aunt, Mary Neil Bussell.
Those left to cherish Michael's memory are his wife, Vicki L. Carico; son, Brandon Carico; daughter, Mackenzie Carico Schodowski (Ben); stepson, Josh Hutchins; stepdaughter, Amber Hutchins; grandchildren, Ireland, Raylan, Brody, and Lincoln; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm at Indian Springs Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:30 pm with Pastor Aaron Rayburn officiating.
Entombment Service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel Mausoleum at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to those who have supported Michael and Vicki over the last ten months. Special thanks to the staff at Select Specialty Hospital and Mike's special care team at Amedisys Hospice for your compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Samaritan's Purse.
